What is a WebSite Exactly...
Think
of it like this...
You want to build a house -
One where everyone can come and see what you have to offer...
Your Website is that house!!
The Internet is a big empty space, like the sky.
This is where you will need to build your house.
So where do you begin??
First you need to find property...
Your domain name, (www.?.com), is your answer.
It is the address to where your new house will be.
But you can't build a house in this big open space without a
foundation...
That is where a Hosting Service comes in...
They come and construct a foundation for you!!
All you have to do is pay them a yearly fee, usually around $80.
There are even FREE hosting services!
All you have to do it advertise for them and
They will let you rent a foundation for FREE!!
Now you need to build your house!!
If you are not an internet carpenter then you hire a Website designer...

list:
NOTE: All of this is optional, at your discretion...
- Your login and
password to your website, (usually in the email they first send to you when
you sign up). This is the only Non-optional item...
- A picture of
each dog you want on the website and if you would like, more than one!
- Each dog's call
name (Sebastian) and if you would like their registered name (Castile's
Southern Comfort), also.
- Each dog's
pedigree...
- Pictures of any
available pups with the parent's names and any other info you would like to
add about them, (desc., date of birth, price, weight, etc.)
- If you want, a
description about yourself for a "About Us" page and a little
description for the intro page. I can make one up for you if you want
but most people want to do their own...
- If you have any
preferences on style, theme, color or anything else!!
- A list of what
pages you want in your website... such as:
- HOME
- BOYS
- GIRLS
- AVAILABLE
- LINKS
- PUPPY
OWNERS, (PEOPLE WHO BUY OR HAVE BOUGHT PUPS)
- PAST POMS,
(RETIRED)
- PARTIS (OR

Pedigree
Typing
This
is something new I am doing...
It is annoying to have Paper Pedigrees that are not on your computer,
such as the AKC pedigrees you can order when you register a pup.
A lot of people want their pedigrees to be "Text" or
"Typed" so that they can add them to their sites, or copy and paste,
etc.
Most people do not have the time to do so...
I
can do this for a fee, $5 per pedigree.
You
can mail them, fax them, whatever it takes to get them here!
This
is of course a free service if I am doing a Website for you!

It refers to the Protocol that allows two computers to communicate with one
another...
When you visit a Website that information is stored on a computer somewhere.
That means anytime you look at a website you are intertwined with another
computer...
Makes you appreciate Anti-Virus Software, right?!?
HTTPS
just means the above but secure so no one else sees that information.
URL
means Uniform Resource Locator
It is a string of characters that allows you to access a resource on the
internet...
In other words... www.murckspoms.com
finds my website and sends it to your computer so you can view it!
DNS
means Domain Name System
It refers to the System that translates text URLs ( www.murckspoms.com
) into numeric code (74.220.207.185)
So that your computer can process it...
HTML
mean Hypertext Markup Language
It is the computer language used to create websites with!
Web
Hosting is the firm used to create and maintain a "spot" for you
on the internet
A Web
Designer is a person that creates a Website for you to place on the
internet.
Confusion
is the lack of ability to understand all of the above without going, huh?!?
